Debating/Public Speaking

St Andrews offers students numerous opportunities in debating and public speaking. The Gold Coast Debating Association runs a high schools competition, which is open to students from Years 8 to 12. The competition involves many schools across the Gold Coast, including St Andrews. In previous years, our debating teams have achieved strong results, often qualifying for the finals stages.

St Andrews also enters students in several other public speaking competitions, including the AB Paterson Public Speaking Competition and the Rostrum Youth of the Year.

St Andrews is a school that values the importance of spoken communication and is committed to developing students into competent, engaging public speakers.
